Yeah, lame is the word. There are bus lines that connect some of the suburban/exurban centers to the endpoint MARTA stations, but that involves transfers (and paying a second fare at the hand-off point).

And the same people are squealing about paying $100 to fill their SUVs twice a week to get to work. Serves 'em right, IMO. I suspect that a lot of them will suddenly find scary black people less scary than gas prices before too long... but it'll be months or years before they can extend the rail lines.

FARf, that is very lame. The trains out here do go to some remote areas, usually north to Sacramento and east of the bay to various large towns. There aren't any trains that go to the really remote areas. Just the bay area and a little farther. Those who live east of Yosemite, for example, are in a similar situation as yourself. And we hear the same crap around here about extending the lines :(.

At least you *have* the option to ride the train. I think MARTA (in Atlanta) run the trains on 8-minute schedules during rush hour, but the racists in the burbs soil their panties any time someone suggests extending the rail lines. Forget about getting out to the more rural parts, like where I live.
